God's Gifts

He promised them a helper: "if you ask anything in my name, I will do it. "If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, to be with you for ever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him; you know him, for he dwells with you, and will be in you. "I will not leave you desolate; I will come to you. (John 14:14-18). The Holy Spirit, then, is the fulfillment of the way we hear God's voice!

One may think that hearing God's voice is beyond us. The video was the Homily of Bishop Richard Deacon Carlos NogueiraGrecco at the opening Ceremony of the Canadian Catholic Charismatic Conference held at St. Michael's Cathedral on July 26, 2009. It encourages us to grow in our relationship with God, no matter where you find yourself in life. He expanded the role of the Third Person in the Holy Trinity in making life easier in hearing God's call to us. His Grace also emphasized the Art of spiritual listening to the voice of God in spite of noises in the City. If you ask God to speak to you, why would he refuse? Think about it. I encourage you then to stop, be still and listen.

Hebrews 4:12

"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart."
